About Us

The Flow Project is a non-profit organization founded by three high school students in December of 2022. This non-profit is committed to combatting period poverty and providing resources to properly maintain menstrual hygiene. As of September 2023, there are 2 branches in Alberta, one in Edmonton and the other in Calgary. As the organization grows, we aim to aid a larger number of people across Canada.

Our Story

The Flow Project emerged as a series of passionate conversations about women's health. These conversations intersected with our exposure to the lack of public resources for natural processes like menstruation. As we conducted further research, we found that North America was not exempt from period poverty. This is what led us to create a non-profit that supports menstruators locally. As we took the first steps in collecting products, we connected with many community leaders who shared the same passion for this issue. This allowed us to not only understand the prevalence of period poverty in our community, but it also allowed us to raise more products than we would have been able to on our own. This feeds into our vision of connecting with the community to create a lasting impact. We hope to continue this legacy throughout Canada as we continue to grow as a non-profit.

Sincerely,
